I discovered my fondness for teaching maths while studying at university with plans to go into Medicine. Many of my friends were struggling with the math content of our Biological Sciences degree and I found it a welcome distraction to help them get to grips with the subject.  Having noticed my penchant for all things maths I went on to volunteer with a charity which supported students in local schools who struggled with maths and English. After seeing my  student go from hating maths to wanting to do it every session, and watching her gain confidence, I realised I had found my raison d’etre and chucked in my plans of becoming a Paediatrician to becoming a maths teacher.  

13 years later I have no regrets - I still love teaching maths and desire to see all my pupils and students develop confidence, competence and a passion for maths. I have had the privilege of working in a myriad of school environments, private and state, single-sex, mixed comprehensive and a hospital school while maintaining 1-1 tutoring evenings and weekends. This in turn has allowed me to develop various skills and ways of teaching to best prepare and support my tutees. Hopefully I can be your solution to your maths problems!
